Our Story
After spending many years working for traditional accounting firms, James, the founder realised that the traditional firms did not have the client at the center of their focus. Unlike other service industries, accountants didn’t really provide much customer service and the customer experience was less than ideal. Then the game changed. New technology has been introduced. Ways of communication at great distances has also greatly advanced. This means that by using the latest technology and collaboration tools, we can drastically alter the traditional model.
At the same time Gordon joined the business and together James and Gordon took the business to another level. We, along with other industry leading accounting firms are changing the industry. Our commitment is not to our timesheets or the dry readings of tax legislation, but to you. A laser focus on top notch customer service and client experience, along with a commitment to professional technical excellence.

James Zhang
Director - BBS ( Accounting, Finance)
James is the visionary of the firm. When he founded the firm, he had a vision to change the accounting industry for the better. He envisaged a world where the client was at the center of our service. He sought to leverage off what was then new advancements in technology to deliver a professional service that was focused on adding value to small businesses, rather than just on tax compliance.
James is outgoing and is naturally a “people” person. Positive in his outlook, his client centric approach has won him the praise of many clients.
Outside of work James enjoys donning the apron and cooking up a feast for his friends and family. Gordon has also spotted James with the latest Harry Potter or Twilight DVD, but James has never admitted as such.
Gordon Tian
Director - CA (CPP), LLB, BCom
Gordon’s professional experience has ranged from tax consulting, financial auditing, to business advisory. Having studied Law and Accounting, Gordon was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand in 2010. However, as fate would have it, he chose the fine art of accounting and qualified as a Chartered Accountant with EY (then Ernst & Young). He then joined KPMG to specialise in advising small to medium businesses to reach their full potential. Then a stint in the corporate world as a financial controller in a large multi-national rounded out his financial and commercial acumen.
Outside of work Gordon likes to follow international rugby and rugby league. He is a fan of the NRL, especially now the Warriors are getting better. He still hasn’t regained his hope for the Blues yet. Maybe next year will be better for them. At least the All Blacks are still winning.
